Brian Kathenes Brian Kathenes is the Managing Partner of National Appraisal Consultants, L.L.C. He is Chairman of the New York Winter Antique Show Vetting Committee on Autographs, Manuscripts & Rare Books and is responsible for vetting all autographs, documents and manuscripts displayed and sold at this most prestigious show. Mr. Kathenes has presented seminars and symposia for over 172,000 participants and clients including the International Society of Appraisers ISA CAPP Course 101 and Appraisal Techniques and Practical Information for Archivists and Librarians from the National Archives and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Kathenes has appeared on over 160 television and radio programs and has been quoted in over twenty magazines and newspapers including the New York Times, Business Philadelphia, Successful Meetings, and USA Today. He is also the author of the syndicated column The Autograph Detective and is the host of Hobby World, a weekly Cable TV program relating to hobbies and collectibles.
He is past President of the New Jersey Chapter of the International Society of Appraisers, the First Director of Education for the Universal Autographs Collectors and a member of the American Philatelic Society Appraisal Committee. Leon Castner Leon Castner holds a Ph.D. in Valuation Science and is a Senior Partner of National Appraisal Consultants, a firm specializing in personal property appraisals and appraisal consulting, insurance reports & research, pretrial consultation, and IRS tax-related appraisal matters. He holds a CAPP in Appreciable Residential Contents and is an adjunct professor of Fine and Decorative Arts at Centenary College.
Mr. Castner is a Registered Contractor for RTC, FDIC, US Marshall's Office, Attorney General, TASA, and has provided major appraisals for these organizations. He is the co-presenter of Appraising the Appraisal - a professional development seminar for insurance agents, claims managers, and trust officers, and is a Panel Member of the American Arbitration Association.
Leon is also past Chairman of ISA Designation and Review, and past President of the New Jersey Chapter of the International Society of Appraisers. He has been honored with The Auctioneer of the Year Award by the New Jersey State Society of Auctioneers and has received the ISA's Outstanding Member of the Year Award.

Alan Atkins
Alan Atkins, machinery and equipment specialist, focuses on the business side of appraisals including manufacturing plants, heavy equipment and inventory. He is NAC's lead bankruptcy appraiser.
Robin Varnes Braswell, ISA AM
Robin Varnes Braswell, ISA AM, from Florida, is an ISA accredited appraiser.
She is a generalist with a special interest in Florida Art, Danish & American Silver, Art pottery and Mid-Century Modern Design. She assists clients with a wide range of appraisal needs and can help them in determining the best market to sell their items if they are interested in liquidating an estate. Robin is an active member of ISA and is currently Vice President for the Central Florida Chapter. She is a graduate of Rollins College.
John A. Buxton, ISA CAPP John A. Buxton, ISA, is an expert on African, Precolumbian, Oceanic, and American Indian Art. He has made numerous appearances on Antiques Roadshow - PBS Television. He has also been selected "Member of the Year" by the International Society of Appraisers in 2000

Sara Conklin, ISA
Sara Conklin is our nautical and marine specialist. She is active in both ISA and ASA appraisal societies. Sara has served as Registrar of the National Maritime Museum in San Francisco, CA, and applies her museum experience to NAC's institutional and archival appraisals.
Paula A. Fox, ISA GG
Paula is one of NAC's qualified gems and jewelry specialists. She is a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America and a designated member of the International Society of Appraisers. Paula is an active members of many professional gem and jewelry organizations including National Association of Jewelry Appraisers and the Accredited Gemologist Association.
Vic Franco, Jr. ISA Vic Franco, Jr. ISA is NAC's furniture repair specialist. He deals in household goods moving and claims work. He is an accredited ISA member and has worked in the furniture restoration and conservation fields for over a quarter of a century. His offices and shops are in Hackettstown, New Jersey.
Ralph Joseph, ISA, CAPP Ralph Joseph is NAC's gems and jewelry specialist. He is the author of The Jeweler's Guide to Effective Insurance Appraising, and was honored with ISA's Lamp of Knowledge award in 1997.
Gail Brett Levine, ISA, CAPP, GG
Gail Brett Levine is past-President of the International Society of Appraisers, and NAC's gems and jewelry specialist. Gail is a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America and the publisher of Auction Market Resource for Gems and Jewelry.
Patricia Sheeleigh, ISA
Pat Sheeleigh is NAC's fine art and antique frame specialist. She has developed catalogs for many well-known art museums and brings a special understanding of the art market to all her consultations and reports.
Vicky Nash Shaw Vicky Nash Shaw, ISA AM, from North Carolina is a generalist antiques appraiser and also specializes in American, Chinese and French Furniture, Asian and American Ceramics and Pottery, and American Silver. She is an ISA accredited appraiser, is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and has an MBA from Marshall University. As a generalist appraiser, Vicky has appraised a wide variety of antiques and collectibles, ranging from 18th century furniture to a USS Sequoia presidential flag with Richard Nixon provenance and also appraises antique and classic cars.
Brenda Simonson-Mohle
Brenda is our senior fine art researcher and fine art appraiser. She has served as the National Chairman of the Fine Art Division of the International Society of Appraisers. Brenda also serves as "Art Consultant" for many NAC clients.
